EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

You may be sure that of all the moments of your life, the time you spend before the Divine Sacrament will be that which will give you more strength during life and more consolation at the hour of your death and during eternity.

All the great saints were Eucharistic Saints

You must learn about the TRUE PRESENCE of Jesus, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, hidden in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar.
The Eucharist is NOT symbolic; it does not represent Jesus, it IS Jesus.
The closest you can get to looking Jesus face to face is in the Blessed Sacrament.

Jesus said:

“I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world”.  (John 6: 51-52)

General Sheen quotes:

“The greatest love story of all time is contained in a tiny white Host”
“The purpose of the Holy Hour is to encourage deep personal encounter with Christ. The holy and glorious God is constantly inviting us to come to him, to ask for such things as we need and to experience what a blessing there is in fellowship with Him…”.
“As a man must be born before he can begin to lead his physical life, so he must be born to lead a Divine Life. That birth occurs in the Sacrament of Baptism. To survive, he must be nourished by Divine Life; that is done in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist”.
“When I stand up to talk, people listen to me; they will follow what I have to say. Is it any power of mine? Of course not. St. Paul says, ‘What have you that you have not received and you who have received, why do you glory as if you had not?’ But the secret of my power is that I have never in fifty-five years missed spending an hour in the presence of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. That’s where the power comes from. That’s where sermons are born. That’s where every good thought is conceived.”

General Kolbe quotes:

“You come to me and unite Yourself intimately to me under the form of nourishment. Your Blood now runs in mine, Your Soul, Incarnate God, compenetrates mine, giving courage and support. What miracles! Who would have ever imagined such!”

General Therese:

“O Jesus! on this day, you have fulfilled all my desires. From now on, near the Eucharist, I shall be able To sacrifice myself in silence, to wait for Heaven in peace. Keeping myself open to the rays of the Divine Host, In this furnace of love, I shall be consumed, And like a seraphim, Lord, I shall love You.”

General Aquinas said:

“The Eucharist is the consummation of the whole spiritual life””

General De Sales:

We must visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament a hundred thousand times a day.”

General Liguori:

“Adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament holds first place”.
“My Lord Jesus, who, for the love You vear to mankind, remain night and day in this Sacrament, full of pity and love, awaiting, calling, and receiving all who come to visit You; I believe that You are present in the Sacrament of the Altar; I adore You from the depths of my own nothingness; I thank you for the many graces You have given me, and especially for having given me Yourself in this Sacrament”.
“Know also that you will probably gain more by praying fifteen minutes before the Blessed Sacrament than by all the other spiritual exercises of the day. True, Our Lord hears our prayers anywhere, for He has made the promise,
“Ask, and you shall receive”
but He has revealed to His servants that those who visit Him in the Blessed Sacrament will obtain a more abundant measure of grace”.”
Certainly amongst all devotions, after that of receiving the sacraments, that of adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament holds first place, is most pleasing to God, and most useful to ourselves. Do not then, O devout soul, refuse to begin this devotion; and forsaking the conversation of men, dwell each day, from this time forward, for at least half or quarter of an hour, in some church, in the presence of Jesus Christ under the sacramental species. Taste and see how sweet is the Lord”.
“The sovereigns of the earth do not always grant audience readily; on the contrary, the King of Heaven, hidden under the eucharistic veils, is ready to receive anyone…”
“My Jesus! What a lovable contrivance this holy Sacrament was – that You would hide under the appearance of bread to make Yourself loved and to be available for a visit by anyone who desires You!”

General Francis:

“I believe that You, O Jesus, are in the most holy Sacrament. I love you and desire you. Come into my heart. I embrace you. Oh, never leave me. May the burning and most sweet power of your love, O Lord Jesus Christ, I beseech you, absorb my mind that I may die through love of your love, who were graciously pleased to die through love of my love”.
“We adore Thee most holy Lord Jesus Christ, here in all Thy Churches, which are in the whole world, because by Thy holy cross, Thou hast redeemed the world”.
“And just as He appeared before the holy Apostles in true flesh, so now He has us see Him in the Sacrament of Bread. Looking at Him with the eyes of their flesh, they saw only His flesh, but regarding Him with the eyes of the spirit, they believed that He was God. In like manner, as we see bread and wine with our bodily eyes, let us see and believe firmly that it is His Most Holy Body and Blood, True and Living. For in this way our Lord is ever present among those who believe in Him, according to what He said:
“Behold, I am with you all days even to the consummation of the world” (Mt 28,20)
“For One in such a lofty position to stoop so low is a marvel that is staggering. What sublime humility and humble sublimeness, that the Lord of the Universe, the Divine Son of God, should stoop as to hide Himself under the appearance of bread for our salvation! Behold the humble way of God, my brothers. Therefore, do not hold yourselves to be anything of yourselves, so that you may be entirely acceptable to One, Who gives Himself entirely to you”.

General Pio

“A thousand years of enjoying human glory is not worth even an hour spent sweetly communing with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.”
BATTLE ORDER 2 : LEARN THE MEANING OF TRANSUBSTANTIATION
Following the command of Jesus, at every Catholic Mass, the priest raises the host and says:
“Take this, all of you, and eat it: This is my body, which will be given up for you.”
Then he lifts the cup and says:
“Take this, all of you, and drink from it: This is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me.”

The doctrine of:

TRANSUBSTANTIATION

is the teaching that bread and wine are changed into the actual Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. For many, this is difficult to understand and to believe.
When Jesus first told his followers, many of them rejected him. Many Christians today still have trouble accepting His teaching.
Jesus repeated this command again to His disciples at the Last Supper when he instituted the Holy Eucharist.
BATTLE ORDER 3 : LEARN ABOUT SOME EUCHARISTIC MIRACLES
Throughout history, many people have reported Eucharistic miracles. The Church has recognized over 100 of these miracles, many of which occurred when there was little or no faith in transubstantiation.
Many eucharistic miracles involve the host turning into flesh and blood, some involve light emitting from the host or an image of Jesus appearing on the host.

LESSON ON BLOOD

There are many types of blood.
Type AB is the rarest form, approximately 7% of people have this type.
Blood type AB is known as the “universal receiver” because they can incorporate every other blood type into their system.
The blood type found on the Holy Shroud of Turin is type AB.
The blood type found during analysis of blood samples taken from Eucharistic miracles have all been blood type AB.

8TH CENTURY : LANCIANO, ITALY

The Miracle of Lanciano

A priest in Lanciano, Italy, was having doubts about the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. In the middle of the Mass, when he said the words of consecration:
“This is my body,” “This is my blood”
The priest saw the bread and wine transform into real human flesh and blood.
The blood coagulated into five separate globules which are believed to represent the 5 wounds of Christ.
THE BLOOD
News of the miracle spread quickly and the local archbishop launched an investigation. The Church would later approved this to be an authentic miracle. The flesh is still preserved to this day.
In 1971, a scientific analysis of the flesh was performed by Professor Odoardo Linoli, a Professor of Anatomy.
He concluded that the flesh was cardiac tissue, and the blood appeared to be fresh blood even though the sample was 1200 years old. There was no trace of any preservatives found during the analysis.
The miraculous flesh and blood can still be visited at the Church of San Francesco in Lanciano, Italy.

13TH CENTURY : BOLSENO, ITALY

The Corporal of Bolseno

In 1263, a German priest known as “Peter of Prague” was struggling with the doctrine of transubstantiation.
While he was saying Mass in Bolseno, Italy, blood began to stream out of the host and onto the corporal at the moment of consecration.
This was investigated by Pope Urban IV, who concluded this to be an authentic miracle.
The bloodstained linen is still exhibited at the cathedral in Orvieto, Italy.

13TH CENTURY : SANTAREM, PORTUGAL

The Eucharistic Miracle of Santarém

A woman living in Santarém, Portugal, was distressed that her husband was unfaithful to her, so she decided to seek the advice of a sorceress for help. The sorceress told her she would help, but the price of her services was a consecrated host.
The woman decided to steal the host during Mass at the Church of St. Stephen. After receiving the Eucharist on her tongue, she removed the Eucharist from her mouth, wrapped it in her veil, and began to leave the church. Before she got to the door, the host began to bleed.
When she got home, she put the bloodied host in a trunk, but that night, a miraculous light emanated from the trunk.
The woman then repented for what she had done, so the next morning she went to the priest and confessed.
The priest went to her house to retrieve the bloodied host and took it back to the church.
After an investigation, the miracle was approved and the church was renamed “Church of the Holy Miracle”.
The bloodied host remains on display to this day.

18TH CENTURY : SIENA, ITALY

The Hosts of Siena

The Catholics of Siena, Italy were attending a special festival for the eve of the feast of the Assumption, when thieves broke into the Church of St. Francis and stole the gold ciborium which contained hundreds of consecrated hosts.
A few days later, at another church, these missing hosts were found in the offering box. When the priest opened the box, the missing hosts were inside, but covered in cobwebs and dirt. They were cleaned and placed in a new ciborium and taken back to the Church of St. Francis for prayers of reparation and veneration.
The priests decided not to consume them but to let them simply deteriorate over time.
Over the next few decades, everyone was amazed to see that the hosts did not deteriorate, but remained fresh.
To this day, the hosts remain in this state today, and can still be seen at the Basilica of St. Francis in Siena, Italy.

2001 : KERSALA, INDIA

The Miracle of Chirattakonam

A Eucharistic adoration at St. Mary’s parish in Chirattakonam, India, when suddenly three red stains appeared on the host.
The priest didn’t know what to do, so he placed the host back into the tabernacle.
A few days later he examined the host again, and the 3 red stains had arranged themselves to form an image of the Holy Face of Jesus.
The priest quickly arranged for photographs to be taken of the host.
BATTLE ORDER 4 : LEARN HOW TO RECEIVE THE HOLY EUCHARIST

PREPARATION

You must fast for a minimum of 1 hour and dress appropriately for Holy Communion, remembering it is the wedding of your soul.
ON THE TONGUE
The most reverent and respectful way to receive Jesus in the Eucharist is on the tongue and in the kneeling position.

Bishop Schneider:

“fragments of the consecrated host are crushed by feet…
Our God, in our churches, is trampled by feet!”
Priests have seen particles of the host floating in the sacred chalice after rubbing their thumbs and fingers together, and after brushing off the paten.
These are not tiny particles, these fragments of the host are actually visible to the naked eye!
Your hands are not consecrated so kneel and receive on the tongue.
BATTLE ORDER 5 : LEARN ABOUT EUCHARISTIC ADORATION FROM POPES AND SAINTS

ADORATION

Adoration is spending time with Jesus

FACE TO FACE

in the Blessed Sacrament.

St. Pope John Paul II:

“The worship given to the Trinity of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…must fill our churches also outside the timetable of Masses…
This worship must be prominent in all our encounters with the Blessed Sacrament…Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Him in adoration and in contemplation that is full of faith and ready to make reparation for the great faults and crimes of the world. May our adoration never cease”.

St. Pope John XXIII

“O Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, I would like to be filled with love for You; keep me closely united with You, may my heart be near to Yours. I want to be to You like the apostle John. O Mary of the Rosary, keep me recollected when I say these prayers of yours; bind me forever, with your rosary, to Jesus of the Blessed Sacrament, Blessed be Jesus, my love”.

St. Pope Paul VI

“…Such visits are a proof of gratitude and expression of Love, an acknowledgment of the Lord’s presence”.

St. Peter Julian Eymard:

“Love cannot triumph unless it becomes the one passion of our life. Without such passion we produce isolated acts of love; but our life is not really won over or consecrated to an ideal. Until we have a passionate love for our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament we shall accomplish nothing”.
“Jesus has prepared not just one Host, but one for everyday of our life. The Hosts for us are ready. Let us not forfeit even one of them.”

THE SECRET OF TRUE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER

(St. Peter Julian Eymard)

“Do you wish to learn the secret of true Eucharistic prayer? Consider, then, all the mysteries in light of the Blessed Sacrament. I is a divine prism through which they can all be studied. The Holy Eucharist is, indeed, “Jesus Christ, yesterday, and today, and the same forever”. (Hebrews 13:8) In this Sacrament He glorifies all the mysteries of His life and prolongs, as it were, the exercise of all His virtues. The Eucharist is, in a word, the great Mystery of our faith to which all Catholic truths lead”.

St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

“O Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, and our dear Mother! O all ye holy angels, who, by your adoration in our churches, make up for the little love which your God and our Saviour receives from men, obtain for us the grace to comprehend a little, the love of Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Sacrament’.

St. John Vianney

“If we really loved the good God, we should make it our joy and happiness to come and spend a few moments to adore Him, and ask Him for the grace of forgiveness; and we should regard those moments as the happiest of our lives”.

ADORATION IS REPARATION
BATTLE ORDER 6 : LEARN THE 3 REASONS TO SIGN UP FOR A HOLY HOUR OF EUCHARISTIC ADORATION BY ST. POPE PIUS X
1. Perpetual Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament is the devotion which surpasses all others.
2. The daily adoration or visit to the Blessed Sacrament is the practice which is the fountainhead of all devotional works.
3. Devotion to the Eucharist is the most noble, because it has God as its object; it is the most profitable for salvation, because it gives us the Author of Grace; it is the sweetest, because the Lord is Sweetness Itself.
BATTLE ORDER 7 : LEARN THE PRAYER TO GOD THE FATHER FOR THE SPREAD OF EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

PRAYER TO GOD THE FATHER FOR THE SPREAD OF EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Heavenly Father, increase our faith in the Real Presence of Your Son, Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. We are obliged to adore Him, to give Him thanks and to make reparation for sins. We need Your peace in our hearts and among nations. We need conversion from our sins and the mercy of Your forgiveness. May we obtain this through prayer and our union with the Eucharistic Lord.
Please send down the Holy Spirit upon all peoples to give them the love, courage, strength and willingness to responding to the invitation to Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration.  We beseech You to spread perpetual exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament in parishes around the world.
We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord.  Amen.
Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament help us to spread the glory of Your Son through perpetual exposition of the Holy Eucharist.

BATTLE ORDER 8 : LEARN THE PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

O Virgin Mary, our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, glory of the Christian people, joy of the universal Church, salvation of the world: pray for us, and awaken in all the faithful devotion to the Holy Eucharist in order that they render themselves worthy to receive it daily. Amen.

BATTLE ORDER 9 : LEARN ABOUT SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

You should make Spiritual Communions with Jesus often throughout the day. General Liguori has provided us with the following prayer:
BATTLE ORDER 9 : LEARN TO THANK OUR LADY
General Liguori instructs us to always thank Our Lady after each visit to the Blessed Sacrament.
It was Our Lady who gave us Jesus.
It was Our Lady who sacrificed everything and gave us everything.
Our Lady is the Co-Redeemer along with her Son Jesus, the New Adam. She is the New Eve, the most perfected work of God, the most perfect creature of all of creation. Her heart too was pierced on Calvary.
General Liguori wrote a book called “Visits to the Blessed Sacrament and the Blessed Virgin Mary”
In this book he writes:
“Mary, the Mother of Jesus, is like her Son in everything. As she is the Mother of Mercy, it is her delight to help and console the miserable. So greatly does this Mother desire to grant graces to everyone that Bernadine de Butis says “Far greater is her desire to do good and to impart grace to you than your desire to receive it”.

PRAYER TO OUR LADY AFTER EACH VISIT

Most holy Virgin Immaculate, my Mother Mary, it is to you, who are the Mother of my Lord, the Queen of the world, the advocate, the hope and the refuge of sinners, that I have recourse today, I, who most of all am deserving of pity.
Most humbly do I offer you my homage, O great Queen, and I thank you for all the graces you have obtained for me until now, and particularly for having saved me from Hell, which, by my sins, I have so often deserved.
I love you, O most lovable Lady, and because of my love for you, I promise to serve you always and to do all in my power to win others to love you also. In your hands I place all my hopes; I entrust the salvation of my soul to your care.
Accept me as your servant, O Mother of Mercy; receive me under your mantle. And since you have such power with God, deliver me from all temptations, or rather, obtain for me the strength to triumph over them until death. Of you I ask the grace of perfect love for Jesus Christ. Through your help I hope to die a happy death.
O my Mother I beg you, by the love you bear my God, to help me at all times, but especially at the last moment of my life.
Do not leave me, I beseech you, until you see me safe in Heaven, blessing you and singing your mercies for all eternity, amen.
So I hope, so may it be.
